Reuben Florence started karate in Bethesda under the guidance of Zanshin's Chief instructor Sensei Gareth Edwards 5th Dan. Reuben has been a model student, always doing well in class and in gradings. He is Zanshin's current Ichi ban Deshi (Top Student) He was a regular winner of interclub tournaments and won the title Zanshin Kata Champion.

A very powerful applicator, Reuben thrives on perfection. His favourite technique is Mawashi-geri (roundhouse kick) and people who are unfortunate enough to hold the pad for him can vouch for this.

Reuben has, this year opened a club in Menai Bridge Anglesey. The club has proved to be very popular with new and old students.

Reuben took his Shodan in Manchester under Shihan Roy Stanhope 7th Dan in May 2001 and Nidan June 2003. He received very high marks in all sections and was highly commended for his standard by Sensei Stanhope. In 2006 Reuben became Zanshin's second 3rd Dan.
